Creamy & {Slightly} Sweet Salad Dressing

Happy Sunday!

This salad dressing was created out of randomness turned genius. I wanted something besides my usual olive oil & apple cider vinegar dressing. I had already decided to use the fresh plums we had just bought as part of the salad so I got an idea to make a slightly sweet dressing with the tiniest amount of mayo to make it creamy.

Well... This dressing came out too good not to share. Here is my recipe below:

You'll need these ingredients or similar:

1tsp Mayo
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp vinegar
Dash of cayenne
Chopped scallions ( about a tsp)
1/2 tbsp of honey
Salt to taste

Mix it all up. I shake mine in a small container because its easier.

Next, chop your salad ingredients. I chose :

- romaine lettuce, purple cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, plums and feta cheese. {yum}

I always have atleast one salad a day especially during the work week. This was such a nice change from the norm and made me feel like Spring is around the corner.

enjoy!

DIY Wall Art

White canvases are usually on sale at most craft stores ( I bought a 2 pack of thin canvases for $5 after sale/ coupon) So, I wanted to think of a cool, easy design to put on some for our hallway.

I searched a few minutes and found this:

I thought this was a nice design for our decor and I decided to do it in a dark grey to contrast our light greyish / blue walls.

I first taped off the design

I made the corner squares first then the large rectangle that overlapped each corner.

Next I mixed up some acrylic paints I had
- A tiny squirt of black ( pea size), a large squirt ( quarter size) light grey, silver and champagne.

Tested and added more or less depending on your darkness desire.

After painting it on in a thin layer I let it dry for a few hours.

I peeled it off ( it looks darker here) and loved the results!

Here they are hung in our hall. So easy and cheap to make!

Simple fall buffet decor

Here is a little fall decor that can be used for any time of the year! I love adding natural elements to my home decor. I have found that drying flowers is very easy and allows me to keep natural elements in my home all year long.

Below: dried wheat

Twine vine spheres

Greens & simple flowers
